CalMag is a high quality magnesium and calcium additive. CalMag is mainly used when your water is osmosed. Despite the fact that Basis Mills A & B contains on average more calcium and magnesium CalMag allows for an extra addition.
Magnesium is necessary for chlorophyll and therefore photosynthesis. Calcium is important for the acidity level and therefore the absorption of nutrients. When using an osmosis filter a deficiency can occur such as chlorosis (yellowing of the leaf between the veins) or a blatant growth delay.
The CalMag stabilizes the PH of the water and the substrate.
