Vegetable charcoal has a positive effect on the soil structure. It preserves nutrients and minerals from leaching, stabilizes the pH value and prevents salinization of the soil. The microorganisms already contained in the charcoal promote the release of bound nutrients, making them immediately available to the plants. Vegetable charcoal degrades very slowly and functions as a carbon reservoir. This means that the carbon is fixed in the soil for a long time without being released into the atmosphere asCO2.
Regular use of CarboVit generates a constantly increasing layer of fertile soil, similar to Terra Preta.
Usage:
- Before sowing/planting, annually incorporate 50-250 g of CarboVit per m2 (depending on the humus content of the soil) evenly into the top layer of the soil. If the soil is not humus-rich, then it is recommended to apply an additional fertilizer of 50 g per m2 in August.
- For potted plants, mix up to 80 g of CarboVit per 10 liters with the entire substrate.
We recommend an application coupled with an Andermatt fertilizer Biogarten corresponding to the crop.
0.5 kg is optimal for treating one to two raised planters or up to 10 m2 of soil.
