During the initial phase of their growth, plants lay the foundation for the final crops. Vital shoots and strong root development are the hallmarks of healthy and vigorous growth. HYDRO Vega has been specially developed to optimally meet the needs of plants during this phase. HYDRO Vega is used for all inert growth media. A complete absorption of nutrients and water from the beginning of the crop is guaranteed, as HYDRO Vega is rich in nitrogen compounds, high quality EDDHA iron chelates and directly absorbable trace elements.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

With the CANNA HYDRO nutrient for fast-growing plants, CANNA has been a pioneer in soilless cultivation. In soilless cultivation, soil is replaced by an inert growth medium. Inert growing media, such as rockwool, do not contain any nutrients. HYDRO is the nutrient of choice for growing on inert substrates. CANNA HYDRO is mainly used in open systems, systems in which drainage water is discharged. CANNA HYDRO has been the most used nutrient in the Netherlands for ages.

PRECISION CULTIVATION

Thanks to CANNA HYDRO, growers can now optimally control the fertilization that their plants receive. It is as if the plants were put on a drip. This requires more know-how than growing in soil, but it is easy to achieve higher yields, because the absorption of nutrients can be better regulated. In this way, the grower is able to immediately correct things that might go wrong. It is also important that the nutrition does not contain any non-digestible substances, as these will have a direct negative influence on the development of the plant. It goes without saying that CANNA HYDRO does not contain such substances.

SOFT WATER AND HARD WATER

It is necessary to control the quality of the water in order to ensure that the assimilation of nutrients is as precise and complete as possible. Water quality affects nutrient availability and uptake, among other things. Hard water, for example, contains more nutrients than soft water (e.g. magnesium and limestone) and requires more acid to adjust the pH. This in turn affects the availability of the nutrients present. Because of the differences in water composition, we offer two varieties of CANNA HYDRO, one for hard water and one for soft water.

OPEN SYSTEMS

In the Netherlands, cultivation on inert substrates is still the preferred method of cultivation in the horticultural sector. In open systems, the fertilization water passes through the roots once and is then drained off, which means that the composition of the nutrient solution must be perfect.
